The First Minute Project can't reach every school alone.

Community Ambassadors help connect us with schools and districts so we can begin the conversation.

You don't need medical experience.

You simply need to care about making your school safer.

You are not expected to sell the program.

Your job is simply to start the conversation.

What Is a First Minute Community Ambassador?

A First Minute Community Ambassador is a community-based advocate who helps introduce The First Minute Project to schools and school districts.

Ambassadors serve as the bridge between their community and our organization.

Your Role is Simple:

  1. You identify the school or district:

    Choose what school and/or district you want to engage with and inform about our program. Typically this will be the school your children attend or a school nearby where you live.

  2. You introduce The First Minute Project at a SAC or DAC meeting:

    School Accountability Committees (SACs) and District Accountability Committees (DACs) are required by Colorado law and provide opportunities for parents, community members, school leaders, and district representatives to work together on issues involving school improvement, student achievement, planning, and other matters that affect students and schools. These meetings provide an excellent opportunity to introduce The First Minute Project and begin a conversation about improving school safety and bleeding control preparedness.

    We will give you everything you need. We will send you a resource guide to get you up-to-speed after joining the ambassador program. Give it a look before you start the conversation with your school or district. We want to ensure you are set up for success and have an understanding of our program and how it’s different from the rest.

  3. You help connect us with the appropriate school or district leadership:

    After you have connected with the right school or district representative, simply connect The First Minute Project with the Rep via email and we will take it from there.

  4. Then you help establish the first meeting by following up with us.

    The meeting can be virtual or in person, depending on what works best for the school or district.

You are not expected to sell a program, negotiate a contract, or answer every question.
